FAQ

What area / region do you cover?

We are based in Kirkby Lonsdale and cover the South Lakes and Morecambe bay area.

How does the process start?

At the initial meeting, we will go through a registration process so that we can gain all the necessary information about the client.  This is where we cover likes, dislikes, accessibility needs, normal routines and get to build up a profile.  There is no charge for the initial meeting and registration.

Do I need to sign a formal contract?

We ask that a contract is signed so that we are protected legally but there is no minimum term or termination notice period; if you do not like our service, then we will stop.

How long and how frequent is each session / visit?

The minimum session duration is two hours and we suggest that this is for at least one session per week as this helps promote familiarity between the client and companion and the formation of a strong bond.  If circumstances do not allow this, then we will cater for less frequent sessions but they must be a least two hours in duration.

Do you cater for people in wheelchairs?

We can work with people who are in wheelchairs but they must be able to get themselves from the chair to a car and be able to take themselves to the toilet.

How much does the service cost?

We charge an hourly rate for each session and we also charge for mileage whilst the client is being transported.  Our clients do not pay for the time or mileage that the companion incurs on the way to or from the meeting / pick up point. Click the link to contact us for details of our current rates

Does the companion pay for their own food and drinks?

If the client wants to go for something to eat and drink, then they pay for their own food and for anything that the companion has.  Most clients pay this directly themselves but we can have the companion pay and charge this back to the client on their monthly account.

How do I pay?

Invoices are sent out at the end of each calendar month either to the client or whoever is paying the bill on their behalf.  Payment is expected with 14 day of the invoice date by bank transfer.

How do I know what happened at each session?

We provide activity details after each visit and will also provide feedback if anything looks untoward, i.e. potential health issues/changes in demeanour.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?

If the client needs to cancel a session, as long we receive 24 hours of notice, there will be no charge. If we receive less than 24 hours of notice then the session will still be charged for and the companion is paid.
